COMMENT FOR THE DAY #71

MEDIATION + ARBITRATION

This is a true story.

I went to a club to improve my speaking skills. One day a new chap joined + made an introductory speech. We counted 48 “ums, ers, you know”. He was not fluent. He was nervous, self-conscious + stuttered all the way. He needed help. He received help. Within eight weeks when he spoke he was down to a maximum of just 2 hesitations – just 2 “ums, ers, you know” in all – 2 in total not 2 of each. We were all so happy for him.

He did it. He knew he needed help. He went in search of help and he found help. He practised. He worked at it. He was determined. He wanted to throw off the chains. He achieved. You can do the same. And the Prize? Confidence, Fluency, Self-Promotion.

Never again was he shy or apprehensive. He wanted to speak + people listened. His life changed. He could self-project. He could reach out + make an impact. He did it + you can do it.
