COMMENT FOR THE DAY #70

MEDIATION + ARBITRATION

This topic has attracted attention. People fear speaking more than death. Humiliation, palpitations, drying up, the words don’t come. But there is a solution. You can acquire verbal confidence + when you do you are released – you can fly – fear goes. You are liberated. Really!

You can chair an arbitration or be in charge of a mediation. The words come. You say what you want to say + when you want to say it. Anxiety goes. Tension is removed. You are in control.

Here is another fluency trick. You are on the metro/tube. There are adverts everywhere. Pick one + talk for two minutes – under your breath. Your lips do not move. You have the product – now make a sales pitch. No preparation. Just start.

For example – it may be holidays in Algeria. A flight of three hours transports you to the beaches of Algeria or, if you prefer, the temples and antiquities, or if you prefer the freedom to roam and go from village to village and meet with the people. You have two minutes. Keep the thoughts coming + keep the words flowing – under your breath. Practice + more practice.

Tomorrow – “ums, ers, you know”
