ARTICLE #33
You are a family mediator. You are accredited + experienced + well organised. You have a track record + you get appointments. But something is wrong. Unresolved blockages have occurred. Solutions are not so easy to reach. You are in a corner. What to do?
Start by recognising that it happens. Stand back from the Particular + look at the General. Success can breed complacency. You have lost your starter motor. You are “swanning” it. You are not doing post event analysis and mistakes in your approach + style of mediation are becoming embedded.
Two Solutions – do it yourself or get your best friend to conduct an audit on you. Sometimes you can get by with some self-analysis but often you need a fresh angle that comes from outside.
Don’t be pompous or self-important. Accept that you do not have all the answers. You want to be examined, interrogated, reviewed – by a friend who will ask the right questions.
We all need a 5,000 mile service. So open the bonnet, look at the engine, look at the wires + get back on the motorway. but be open + not closed – honest + not self-deceiving. Let me know if it works. Arbitration tomorrow.
