COMMENT FOR THE DAY #66 – EPISODE 1

MEDIATION

A mediation is about the parties, their dispute and possible solutions. But a topic that is always overlooked is the health+well-being of the mediator. It is a given. All is well. You work/eat. You think/act. You are focused. Aren’t you?

Can a Mediator lose her/his focus? It happens. It has to happen – Life is life + events can blow you off course. Eg;- a sudden bereavement; bad health to a close relative; sudden financial crisis; a personal problem of magnitude.

Look at your own career as a mediator, put your hand on your heart + review the interaction between your work as a mediator and the sudden interruption of an event that upsets your 100% focus and concentration.

This website focuses on “What Happens” in mediation + arbitration. This is not taught in the training courses. I will explore this issue more fully in Episodes 2/3/4/5.
